As we get closer to the end of this year it looks like 2013 will be the year of punk! With this year’s Met Gala honoring the punk fashion movement with the “Punk: Chaos to Couture” exhibit and many of our favorite designers presenting punk influenced looks for their Fall 2013 collections it looks like punky fashion with keep being reinvented. I spotted this UCF student by the refection pond this week with an outfit that had the look and feel of this rebellious movement. Instead of going full force with mohawks, studs and spike this young lady decided to take classic elements of punk fashion and used them in a more subtle and refined way that suited her personal style. In addition another element of her outfit that caught my eye was her integration of the fall color pallet into her look. Colored denim is a trend that is still going strong; the addition of her red/orang colored pants were a wonderful way to embrace to fall season.
Her top was one of the main reasons I stopped her. It was a stubble way to show a bit of skin but not inappropriate for the academic setting. Instead of being completely cutout the mesh keep her covered and her shirt together
Her accessories were few in amount but still very impacting. Her cross ring to wrist bracket was amazing. I personally have a bracelet similar to it and it is a really eyes catching accessories to own that somehow always becomes a conversation starter.
I’ve seen how Combat boots in the last couple of years have become a big fall and winter trend. Initally I thought they were going to be a one season trend but I was very mistaken in not knowing how much women would embrace this shoe. This year instead of sticking to the usual black or brown color, be inspired by this fashionista and try a boot in a lovely shade of navy. It is a nice change in boot color but not too crazy that you will have trouble finding outfits to match them with.
