So finals week… The one week college students procrastinate as much, if not more, than midterms. Finals suck, there’s no denying it.
If you want to get through finals, there is one person to look to. Take a good look at my pal iiSuperwomanii. If you’re not familiar with her videos, you should really check them out.
Step 1: Procrastinate to the day of an exam.
Wake up and admit you had at least a week to prepare for this exam. Realize you have maybe as little as 5 hours to prepare. Get ready to start your mission.
Step 2: Make posts about your exam on social media.
Tell everyone not to disturb you because you have so much work to do.
Step 3: Lay out your tools for success.
You need to have everything laid out in case you need it.
Step 4: Stare at a blank page or stare blankly at notes.
Maybe something will come to you if you stare hard enough.
Step 5: Procrastinate more by looking up a video on how not to procrastinate.
You procrastinate while trying to look up how to stop procrastinating.
Step 6: Play with stupid objects.
Suddenly that pen has become highly amusing as you click it over and over.
Step 7: Take selifes.
Finals week = selfies to die for. Your selfie game is strong.
Step 8: Talk to friends.
Talk about your exam struggles. You can talk through it and vent to each other.
Step 9: Your ONLY pen/pencil breaks so you HAVE to go buy another one.
Clearly you don’t own another pen or pencil and it’s the end of the world. Therefore, you need to stop what you’re doing and make a special trip to get what you need.
Step 10: Jam in your car.
There’s no shame in having a private concert while you run necessary errands.
Step 11: Face tough decisions on products at the store.
What’s the best option here? Should I get the same one I had or try something new?
Step 12: Jam on the way back to your place.
Jam like there is no exam.
.
Step 13: Lay out all of your extra purchases you made.
You went out for a pen or a pencil and came back with useless office supplies and/or food.
Step 14: Almost fall asleep.
Don’t fall asleep all the way.
Step 15: Look up inspirational quotes and Instagram them.
Because this will motivate you to not procrastinate while you are in fact procrastinating more.
Step 16: Stare blankly some more.
You’re just thinking REALLY hard.
Step 17: Play with objects some more.
Making words on a calculator or playing a game on your phone is much more entertaining.
Step 18: Get yelled about by parents/roommates.
They’re looking out for you.
Step 19: Sing while working.
Snow White said to “Whistle While You Work” so singing while you work should apply too… maybe?
Step 20: Eat.
Food helps you focus more, right?
Step 21: Dance break while doing work.
Nothing says hard work like throwing your books down and having a dance number in your room.
Step 22: Fall asleep.
This is crucial to finals week. It’s not finals week if you don’t fall asleep while trying to prepare for an exam you procrastinated over.
Step 23: Wake up in a panic with an hour or less until your exam.
Yep, you did it. You fell asleep after all of that.
Step 24: Panic a LOT.
Freak out and try to put together a game plan. You got this.
Step 25: Scramble to prepare for your exam.
Flip through pages quickly or type until your fingers feel like they’re about to fall off.
Step 26: Get everything ready and then have an unfortunate event occur.
The printer stopped working. You missed the shuttle. Your car won’t start. It could be any number of things.
Step 27: Cry.
It’s okay to cry, let it out.
Step 28: Give up.
Just sit down and admit the defeat.
Step 29: Fake an illness to get out of missing the exam.
You were throwing up, you have a fever, and you’re coughing…. and you missed your exam.
Step 30: #howigetworkdone
Share your story with the hashtag #howigetworkdone.
