Remember when life was filled with Teen Wolf, Dylan O’Brien obsessions and girls wearing red lacrosse hoodies? Well, say no more, because the pack is back!
Earlier this month, MTV announced that the creator of Teen Wolf, Jeff Davis, is producing a Teen Wolf movie! And no, I don’t mean the original Teen Wolf movie, I mean a new revival based on the TV series!
Teen Wolf, inspired by the 1985 movie with Michael J. Fox, was a series that ran on MTV for six seasons. It featured Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), a newly turned teen wolf. He was joined by Stiles Stilinski (Dylan O’Brien), his best friend, along with others to help him navigate life as a teen wolf.
For years, fans have been asking for the return of Teen Wolf, and it’s finally happening! Just four years after the series finale of the show, Paramount + is creating a Teen Wolf movie set to be released on their streaming service in 2022.
Fans were hyped up after MTV posted a video on their social media:
“A wolf howls to signal its location to the rest of the pack,” The video continues with a flood of tweets from fans, “we’ve heard your howls, and we’re howling back.”
I know what you’re thinking: will the original cast be back for the movie? It’s not known for sure who is coming back. But many of the previous actors, such as Tyler Posey (Scott) and Dylan Sprayberry (Liam), have interacted with the video post on social media.
Many fans are curious about one actor in particular, Dylan O’Brien. He was a fan favorite during Teen Wolf‘s run (and mine too). We all know his character was an important part of the show. After all, there can’t be a Scott without his best friend, Stiles.
O’Brien has liked numerous tweets mentioning the movie but hasn’t said anything else so far. All fans can do is wait for the cast to be announced.
There may be hope for all Stiles fans out there. In the teaser trailer, Stile’s jeep is featured toward the end.
Want to see what the movie will be about? According to MTV, the story will follow a grown-up Scott McCall gathering his friends to fight back against a deadly enemy. “The wolves are howling once again, calling for the return of the banshees, werecoyotes, hellhounds, kitsunes and every other shapeshifter in the night,” the text reads. “But only a werewolf like Scott McCall, no longer a teenager yet still an alpha, can gather both new allies and reunite trusted friends to fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they’ve ever faced.”
If you can’t wait for the movie, then you’re in luck! Teen Wolf the series will be coming to Paramount + in December.
So, dig out your Stilinski hoodie and prepare to binge the show in preparation for the movie. You know that’s what I’ll be doing!
