This past week on Dancing with the Stars, Teresa Giudice got sent home after dedicating a jive to “All Shook Up” by Elvis to her father. When the season started out, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star said that she wanted to show the world who she really is. Now that she has been sent home, who is the real Teresa Giudice?
Bravolebrity and OG on Real Housewives of New Jersey
When Pasha showed up to Teresa’s house, she asked if he had watched her show. His response was, “I know the table flipping one.” The infamous scene that Pasha referenced has become integral to Housewives history, and took place in the finale of Real Housewives of New Jersey season one. Teresa was very upset about Danielle Staub confronting her castmates about rumors of cheating, so in a fit of rage, Teresa flipped over the dinner table they were all sitting at and screamed, “Prostitution whore!”
This scene is probably what solidified Teresa’s position on the show, and she has been on all 12 seasons of the Bravo show. To commemorate this, she also flipped a table with a rhinestone turkey during her first dance on Dancing with the Stars, where she tangoed to “We Found Love.”
She’s all about family
Maybe because it’s something that is culturally important to the Italians, but Teresa is all about family. In her package before getting eliminated this past week, she talks about how she and her father watched Elvis and Dancing with the Stars together before he passed away. It was a heartfelt tribute.
Both this week and last, she has had her daughters and her husband supporting her from the sidelines. In her jive, she didn’t want to fail, because of the fact that she was doing it for her dad and her husband, as well as Pasha for all the hard work he has put in. In The Real Housewives of New Jersey, she always preaches the value of family, which is why the next thing might be a little contradictory.
Supportive Spouse, Through and Through
The name Teresa Giudice might sound familiar if you were addicted to reading tabloids in 2015, because she was all over them for going to jail. Why? She signed papers at her husband’s request without questioning what they were. While Teresa and Joe are now divorced because he has to live in Italy, she recently got married again.
In her latest exchange of vows, Teresa proved her loyalty to her new husband Luis Ruelas by excluding Joe Gorga and Melissa Gorga, who are Teresa’s brother and sister-in-law, respectively. Rumor has it that Joe got in a fight with Luis the night before the wedding, and Melissa was upset that she hadn’t been asked to be a bridesmaid. Teresa is so loyal to her spouse that she chose him over her family.
There is a lot of passion inside
In her first week, the judges gave Teresa lower scores because they didn’t see the passion in her tango. However, I think she has a lot of passion inside of her; I don’t think you can get all the emotional reactions she has had on television without passion. She makes all these meme-worthy facial expressions that become memes, there’s countless footage of her yelling, and I have even seen some footage of her being restrained because she is so passionate about her convictions. If the judges had gotten the passion they were asking for, they might have had to restrain her, too.
She is working on herself
In response to being known for flipping tables, Teresa says to the camera, “I used to have a short fuse. I started working with a therapist on how not to get triggered.” I feel like everyone can relate to that statement. At the end of the day, no one can really fault her for the mistakes she’s made, because we are all still learning and working on ourselves too.
Now, the real reason that I think she went on Dancing with the Stars is to promote her newest podcast, Namaste B$tches. While she doesn’t mention it at all during her time on the show, it is her latest project, and it seems to go along with that theme of showing everyone the real her. Maybe the podcast will be the place to really prove that she doesn’t have a short fuse anymore.
