To say the least, the past few weeks have definitely caused an uproar of emotions. And with life, as we all know, unfavorable things will continue to happen. So, we must do our best to de-stress and find good things from all the negative that can be around us. Although “de-stressing,” or attempting to, will not cause our problems to disappear, it may help with dealing with these problems in the long run. Here is a list of well known things we can do, to try to find a better outlook on life and possibly find more peace throughout the day.

1.) Take time out of your day to specifically relax and not worry about homework, work, etc.

Create a playlist with relaxing music, lay down, take deep breaths, and try to take each moment one at a time. Some artists that definitely emanate relaxation are Nap Eyes, Los Angeles Police Department, and Bon Iver. All can be found on Spotify!

2.) Exercise!

Whether it be going on a jog by the ocean, or doing yoga with a good friend. Taking time to exercise can be a great way to relax and de-stress.

3.) Going to the ocean.

If you’re like me, one of my favorite things to do is to take a trip to the ocean and sit there watching the waves rhythmically go back and forth. Often, peace radiates from sitting there watching and smelling the salt air.

4.) Drink a lot of water.

It’s just healthy.

5.) Take a day to hang out with friends.

Go out, laugh, try not to worry about all the responsibilities you have. A day of laughter is a day well spent.
