After last year’s bonfire—or lack of one due to the tuition hike protest—left many Bruins disappointed, this year’s was a huge success.
Hosted by the Student Alumni Association each year, the Beat ‘SC Bonfire is a UCLA tradition that gathers students, performers, and alumni to rally against USC before the much anticipated cross-town rivalry football game Saturday.
This year, the bonfire was hosted by India Carey, a UCLA alumna and “The Voice” finalist and featured student performance groups NSU Modern dance team and Signature A Cappella. In typical Bruin fashion, the Bruin Marching Band played the UCLA fight song as coach Jim Mora and the football team took the stage—followed by an impromptu dance performance—to rally the crowd for this Saturday’s game.
Spirit was definitely high as organizers lit the bonfire to Sean Kingston’s “Fire Burning” as we Bruins expect a 4-peat win against the Trojans, so make sure to watch this year’s game and support your fellow Bruins!

The game will be held this Saturday, November 28th, at 12:30 PM at the Coliseum and remember, BRUINS RUN LA!
