Although the dystopian world is common in movies and literature, I didn’t realize it was becoming so popular within music festivals as well.
Fyre Festival, a music festival meant for the rich, the beautiful, and the richer, surfaced as it was promoted by social media prodigies Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, and many others.
I mean, what could go wrong? Private jets to a beautiful island in the Bahamas to see some performers that are probably going to be at every other music festival in the world? This is definitely NOT too good to be true.
Sorry folks, it is indeed.
People paid a pretty penny to look pretty at the Fyre Festival in the Bahamas. But to their dismay, the heavy price tag only provided limp lettuce and soggy bread, a classic yellow school bus, and a shipping container filled with everyone’s luggage sprawled on the ground. (Hey, everyone likes a collective open air market, right?)
I don’t know about you, but seeing the photos of the meals, the transportation, and the outcome of the music festival, it reflected that of Banksy’s Dystopian Sketch Book Ideas (if there ever was one).
This was a good idea in practice, but if they want to create an art installation so badly, they should just team up with Banksy next time for their next Dystopian Art Piece.
Even though the music festival was a grave failure, it seems like it’ll go down in history as bizarre evidence of the human population doing things because models tell them to. At least it’ll probably be a great movie one day.
