JK: I was 16 and I had a friend who started at UCF that year. I visited her and asked “What’s Public Relations?” It all started from there.

HC: When/how did you start Katz Public Relations?

JK: September 2011. I was working for another boutique firm at the time and the opportunity arose to start my own agency. I took the chance, asked my friend to be my assistant, and the rest is history. That friend is now my Vice President and the company is thriving seven years later.
