If anyone knows me, they know I’m a sucker for Milk Makeup. Their dedication to cruelty-free, eco-friendly makeup and their easy-to-apply, light coverage formula just manages to encompass all I want in a makeup brand. I know I’m a little late, but I finally got around to trying out two of their products from the Kush line: the fiber brow gel and the mascara. These vegan products are infused with cannabis oil for a conditioning effect and heart-shaped fibers for extra volume.
I’m a huge supporter of fiber brow gels. They’re quick and easy for a lazy day, and give just the right amount of messy volume for a good, fluffy brow. I bought the Kush Fiber Brow Gel in Diesel, the cool-toned black option. The first thing I noticed when I tried to apply it was that it’s pretty easy to get the gel on your skin instead of your hairs. But, with time, it gets easier to adjust to the applicator. Once I got used to it, the Kush brow gel quickly became the most effective gel I’ve ever used. It defines and volumizes my hairs like no other gel does. Using this product, you don’t really need any other brow product. When I do want a little more of a defined shape, though, I lightly shape the very front of my brow with a pencil and use the gel for the rest of the brow.
Next, I tried out the Kush Mascara. This claims to be a volumizing mascara, and it does just what it promises. Although I’m usually more of a lengthening mascara type of gal, I like adding volume at the outsides of my eyes, and the Kush mascara definitely does this. It provides a lot of volume with just one coat, and isn’t too clumpy either. However, it has a pretty large applicator that can be hard to control, especially if you have really short lashes like I do. Sometimes the wand picks up too much product, but this is easy to work around if you just wipe off the excess product onto the container. Overall, the Kush mascara does the job well, but can be a little difficult to work with.
I highly recommend the Fiber Brow Gel, but I’m still on the fence about the Kush Mascara. If you’re better at applying mascara than I am, maybe give it a shot. I have still yet to try out the Kush Lip Balm, but once I run out of my current balm, I’m definitely going to pick it up. So, next time you’re at a Sephora, consider trying out Milk’s products!
