Trust me when I say this: I’ve never had this much fun shopping for makeup in person before. Going to Glossier LA was more than just shopping — it was a full aesthetic and interactive experience that I will never forget. Let me walk you through my experience.
When my friend first told me she wanted to go to Glossier LA, I was surprised by her strong enthusiasm. It’s just a cosmetics store, right? Why do we need to go in person when we can just shop for it online?
We were greeted first by a friendly staff before we walked in. No, not those scary security guards that you find at luxury brands, but a group of young people close in age to us, each wearing unique, light pink outfits. They didn’t bombard me with information every few seconds; they kept their distance and let me explore the place on my own.
As I walked into the store, I immediately noticed the shift in the aura. The space was filled with fountains, displays, artwork and high ceilings. It felt almost sacred — as if I was walking into an art museum!
It really did look like a museum, except for the fact that I could try the samples. I didn’t have to sit back and observe the cosmetics, but I could have an interactive experience trying out all the tempting lipsticks!
With my friends’ strong encouragement, I tried almost all the lipsticks, from high gloss to matte. When I turned to the mirror, I saw an immediate transformation in my lips! Even though the lipstick had no real plumping effect, it somehow made my lips look softer and plumper.
As I walked around the store, I came across a cute photoshoot spot. Giant lipsticks and a giant mirror! I took a mirror selfie with my friends and posted it on my story with the hashtag Glossier.
After trying a couple more body mists and absorbing the scenery, I decided to buy three lipsticks. I got three of the Glossier Lip Gloss in Gold, a clear base with gold shimmers. Yes, I liked them so much, I got three!
I was able to place my order with any staff without lining up at the cashier. Five minutes later, someone called my name and gave me a cute, pink bag with my lipsticks inside. The pink matched the staffs’ outfits. What a cute aesthetic!
Pleased with my experience, my friends and I walked out, a bit hungry. A few steps out, we found Alfred Coffee, painted in pink to match Glossier!
Overall, Glossier LA was a very satisfying and unusually calming experience. I highly recommend you to check it out, or any other in-person Glossier stores. Make sure to take lots of photos if you go!
