I am very much the type of person that when I figure out I like something, I stick to it (which is why I have the same Brandy Melville tank top in three different colors). I explore all my options, and then when I find my favorites, my holy grails, I stick to them. This especially impacts the things that I do daily, as everything I am going to share below are all essentials that I have stuck with for multiple years now. They are tried and true; I know I love them and that they suit me. These are some of my daily essentials that I could not live without:
- My Hydro Flask
-
This is my holy grail daily essential. If you know me, you know that I take my water bottle with me literally everywhere I go (and on the days that I forget it I am literally miserable). Having a water bottle that I love, and that I’ve decorated and made super fun, is what has driven me to stay hydrated these past couple years. And just having it with me at all times has helped create the habit of drinking water, which is such an important habit to have.Â
- My Lippies (Lip products)Â
-
I literally do not go anywhere without a lip product on me. Having dry lips is the most annoying sensation in the world, and the second I feel any inkling of that feeling, I reapply. It also just makes me feel so put together; even on no make-up days, having a lip gloss can just brighten my face up a bit. As I love lip products, I have tried so many different ones, and here are some of my favorites: Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm, tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Balm, Too Faced Lip Injection Power Plumping Hydrating Lip Gloss, and the classic Glossier Balm DotCom.
- GratitudeÂ
-
This one is a little bit of a switch up from the previous entries, but practicing daily gratitude has improved my life in so many ways. And the saying, “practice gratitude,” sounds so time consuming and like a huge commitment, but it definitely does not have to be that way. One thing that I like to do everyday is simply write down three things that I’m grateful for at the end of the night, right before I go to sleep. This can range from small things (like the amazing coffee I had that day), to the bigger things, like being surrounded by incredible friends and family. It just makes such a difference when you think about these things. Especially on lower days when it feels like there isn’t much happiness going on, reflecting on these things can really help turn that mood around.Â
- My SunglassesÂ
-
Honestly, my sunglasses are probably my favorite thing that I own. Along with my hydro flask, I bring my pair with me everywhere I go, and I use them anytime I am outside and the sun is out. Growing up in San Diego for me meant going to the beach every day, playing water polo, and being a lifeguard, all of which are outside in the direct sunlight. I’ve just gotten used to needing them wherever I go, and if you ever see me walking around campus, odds are I’m sporting a pair!Â
- StretchingÂ
-
Here’s another habit that I can’t go a day without. Typically, right after I wake up in the morning, I spend a couple of minutes just slowly moving my body, stretching and doing a couple of easy yoga poses to jumpstart my day. It helps me feel more connected to myself and my body, and gets me in a calm mood that helps balance out the typical stress and busyness of my days.Â
- Eye PatchesÂ
-
These are my ultimate form of self care. Putting the little patches under my eyes, whether it be after a long day or in the morning after a long night, helps to destress me so much, and also helps to depuff my eyes or get rid of my (feels like constant) eyebags. I just buy a pack of 30 pairs and they last me about a month, and it just brings me so much joy. I have pretty sensitive skin, and my face doesn’t always like doing face masks all the time, so I’ve found this to be an awesome alternative. I definitely recommend trying these out if you haven’t already!
There’s my list of daily essentials! Like I said before, these are my tried and true, and genuinely have become such an important part of my routine. I hope this inspires you to maybe incorporate a new daily habit; you never know how it might serve you until you try.
