Recent Campus Cutie “Jake Davis” announced last week yet another musical project for Summer 2012 currently dubbed as The Sacks. Co-members Jordan Meltzer and Ethan Arlook have teamed up with Davis after the collapse of previous band The Limetree Warehouse, a local L.A phenomenon known for their feature appearances on House, 98.7, and the Sunset Strip Music Festival. Davis, known for Vanishing Red, Ellison Hall, and his own solo endeavors, has commented saying:
“We’re going to be making a record this summer, and it’s going to have a little of everything. There’s a’capella, 80’s punk, hard rock, indie folk, straight pop, the whole mix. That’s the beauty of being on an independent label, we don’t have to pigeon-hole a genre. We all switch around whose singing, whose playing what, if you’re expecting a consistent sound, I wouldn’t listen in. We’re all about changing things up. You would think there would be more bands doing this kind of thing right now, but I haven’t found any.”
The record is slated for Fall 2012, but look out for their new single and debut music video “Baby Leave Me Alone,” to be released next month.
But if you’re aching for a listen right now, check out their first single “Crumbling” at Facebook.com/TheSacks.
