It’s that time of year again; love is in the air. I surveyed UCLA students, and here are the most romantic moments that they shared of wholesome, true love!

Proposal spottings

Someone was proposed to at the botanical garden! There was also a proposal last week in front of Kerkhoff!

If he wanted to, he would

Last Valentine’s Day, my boyfriend drove to UCLA at 8PM just to celebrate Valentine’s Day with me. He had work early in the morning the next day. He also surprised me with flowers, a squishmallow, and Lego flowers (since those flowers never die). He also used my favorite color of wrapping paper and took me out to dinner.

the little things

It wasn’t big or anything expected, but it was a normal day and a normal drive back to school after spending the weekend together. I remember just being at a stoplight and him looking over at me and saying how grateful he was to the universe for our meeting, and how I was his biggest inspiration for working harder, and that I’d changed his life in a way that brought so much more joy into it. I knew I loved him, but at that moment, I fell more in love than I’d ever been.

Unforgettable date night

We climbed onto a rooftop and stargazed.

Taught me something new

I went on a second date with a really sweet guy. We went to the beach and he tried (unsuccessfully) to teach me how to skateboard, and then we just kinda walked and looked at the sunset and talked about our childhood and stuff; it was very wholesome.

Serenade

Last year, a guy in my calc class was serenaded by a UCLA a capella group around Valentine’s Day. He stood up in the middle of the lecture, smiling.

Got Married

Met the love of my life while studying abroad in Italy and got married to him.

student worker love at first sight

I was working and a new employee came that day. 15 minutes after we met, he asked me when I got off that day, if we could go to a restaurant to get food together, and what my schedule looked like for the week. By the end of his first shift, he handed me a post-it note with his number.

Romantic walk

We took a walk on the beach and talked about life.

surprise Delivery

My friend was surprised with a flower delivery outside her dorm.

Driving the distance

My friend’s boyfriend drove from Irvine to UCLA and surprised her with a self-made bouquet!

Fingers crossed that, if you want it, you’ll get your UCLA romantic moment this Valentine’s Day!
