Ah, fall. The season of pumpkin spice, sweaters, jewel tones, and the much awaited cooler weather…that is, cooler weather unless you go to UCSB or anywhere in Southern California for that matter. For us girls this crazy rollercoaster we call weather can create quite the struggle. Here are five struggles that every UCSB collegiette has faced at some point during the fall.
Â
1. Being pumped to dress for cold weather….
Â
….but then it’s a million degrees for the rest of the day.
That outfit that seemed so perfect in the a.m. is now your worst enemy for those 80 degree afternoons. Your options are very limited here: freeze in the morning or sweat to death later in the day.
Â
2. Your caffeine addiction is worsened by the colder mornings.
Â
Because who doesn’t love a hot pumpkin spice latte (or any coffee) on a cold morning before an 8 a.m. class?
3. Expecting your hair to look like this on a windy day….
….but in reality it’s more like this.
Ponytails and sock buns for days. Not to mention the fact that your hair will constantly be sticking to your lip gloss. Model hair is overrated anyway, right?
Â
4. Falling asleep is either really difficult or really easy, there’s no in between.
To sleep with blankets and sweats or to sleep with shorts and no blankets, that is the struggle.
Â
5. MIDTERMS.
Â
And as every collegiette knows, along with fall comes midterm season. All nighters and loads of caffeine here we come!
