Lauren and Jenna’s Fashion Blog: How to Wear Your Favorite Boots for Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCSB chapter.

Fall has finally arrived! So here are some fun new looks to wear with your favorite pair of boots! Boots have always been an essential when creating easy, fashionable outfits. Slide them over skinny jeans or black leggings and you instantly have the foundation to make a great outfit. We recommend getting a new pair of black and brown knee-high boots at the beginning of fall. They don’t have to be expensive, but they are a great investment since you will get a lot of wear out of them. We always choose boots with zipper details, but some of our friends prefer buckles, riding boot style, or boots with heels. And yes, Uggs count as boots too! Even though they are a lounge wear staple, there are ways that you can dress them up without looking like you just rolled out of bed. You can customize your look with these little details, offering a personal touch to your outfits.

Lounge/Class

We all have those days when it’s way too early for class and we don’t have enough time to throw together a “real” outfit. BUT, that doesn’t mean you should just roll out of bed and throw on a sweatshirt and Uggs. We get that jeans may be a struggle when it’s early (10:00 a.m. counts as early, right?) so let’s keep the yoga pants and Ugg boots but add some other items to make your outfit look more put together. Try a long sleeve t-shirt with a vest and a colored scarf. We swear it’s just as easy as a sweatshirt AND you actually look decent. Bonus points if you have a patterned band on your yoga pants and match your shirt! The best part of this outfit: maximum comfort.

Spot Light Trend: Colored Jeans

Colored jeans have been around for a few seasons now. Red and cobalt blue were trendy as ever but put them towards the back of your closet and opt for dark green or eggplant hues when switching up your denim duds. It’s best to stick with either a skinny or straight leg style when experimenting with your denim for fall, and best of all, they pair perfectly with our other fall favorite: boots. Here are a couple ideas in different price ranges to fit into every college girl’s fall wardrobe.

Date Night

There are literally tons of different ways to wear your favorite boots for date night, whether it’s with your favorite girls or a special guy. State Street gets a little chilly at night, but it’s not cold enough yet for full-blown pea coats and leather jackets. Try wearing your favorite pair of boots with dark or colored jeans and a slouchy top. This is a great option because you can try different kinds of layering techniques with scarves, jewelry, and sweaters. I also paired my outfit with a leopard print belt, which brings the whole look together. Any kind of boot will work for this outfit. Personally, we are HUGE fans of riding boots, but this would also look cute with knee-high boots and leggings.
