So you met this cute guy Saturday night and you hit it off. I mean, you really hit it off. You two danced, kissed, exchanged numbers and even shared Freebirds nachos after the party, because neither of you wanted the night to end. So, it’s been a few days and you haven’t heard from him.Â
Instead of obsessing about the “what ifs” and replaying the events in your head to analyze, stop and take a lesson from our favorite apathetic 1990s cartoon character, Daria.
Here are five things you can do to DGAF about that Saturday night cutie:
1. Hang out with your friends
The best way to forget about a boy is to hang out with your girls. Your friends will remind you that you’re the best and you’re beautiful and he’s an idiot and he doesn’t know what he’s missing and he really wasn’t that cute anyways, blah blah blah, etc. Your confidence will be restored in minutes.
2. Remind yourself that the world shouldn’t revolve around men
There are so many more interesting things to talk about than that Saturday night cutie. Did you see last weeks episode of “Game of Thrones?” Who do you think is going to run in the next presidential election? How about that California drought?
But really though, Saturday night John Doe is such old news.
3. Kiss someone else
You know what they say: there are other fish in the sea. Granted, this might not be the best way to get over someone, but it’ll be the most fun.
4. Don’t take it personally
Don’t assume the worst about yourself just because a guy hasn’t called you. It’s possible that you two are the perfect couple but your number didn’t save into his phone.
Or maybe his phone was stolen. But then again, he could easily find you on Facebook. Maybe it’s like that movie “He’s Just Not That Into You,” and he’s just not that into you. Maybe he’s just busy.
5. Remember that you’re a G.
According to Urban Dictionary, a G is:
Regardless of your relationship status or your luck with love, chances are you’re probably pretty cool, (because you go to UCSB). So keep your chin up, Gaucho, because you can’t spell Gaucho without G.
