Why Coachella Is Worth the Investment

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCSB chapter.

Coachella is a music festival which occurs in April every year for two weekends.  This music festival has music ranging in all styles from EDM, to rock, to Indie – Coachella has it all.  This year the event alone with shuttle passes included, costs around $459.00.  At first people will look at this number and think that is way too expensive for a festival, but I believe the money really is worth it and here’s why!

The Environment:  Coachella is decorated so beautifully with butterflies, balloons, and much more.  This creates a positive and light-hearted atmosphere which you and your friends can enjoy.  All of the other concertgoers as well as the staff are super friendly.  Coachella is filled with a plethora of people from all over the world, giving you the opportunity to meet some really cool and interesting people.  Everyone is just there for the good time and good vibes and this lively environment will provide you with an unforgettable experience.

The Music: The music on its own is so beautiful.  The ability to see some of your favorite music and artists live is truly such a magical experience.  You have the ability to freely dance to and appreciate the music while being surrounded by the people you love.  Coachella hires some of the most famous artists to come and share their music with the world so the ability to see about over fifty possible artists for only $459 is such a steal.  One concert can range from $30-$150 dollars so you can save so much money by seeing them all at once at Coachella rather than seeing them individually for an even bigger price.  The ability to go to Coachella not only allows you to watch your favorite artists live, but it also allows you to discover new artists and music.  Also, the music doesn’t stick to one specific genre, so you don’t get tired of the same genre of music for three days straight and can instead listen to some indie music and then listen to some rap music.

The Experience:  Coachella is truly one of the best weekends of my entire life.  I have so much fun with all of my friends where we wear the cutest clothes, take the cutest pictures, and enjoy each other’s company while listening to the amazing melodies provided by the artists themselves.  You create an infinite amount of memories with your friends which you can’t even put a price tag on.
