What makes her a UCSC Campus Celebrity?
Sullivan obviously is incredibly successful in her field and is a great role model for women pursuing a career in the sciences. In addition to being named as one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential, she is also a former astronaut, currently the adminstator of the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and was the first American female to walk in space. Sullivan has many other accomplishments under her belt and continues to inspire aspiring female science students around the world with her hard work.Â
