Hey Banana Slugs!

Welcome back from Winter Break. It’s time to start the new quarter fresh- how about starting with taking care of your hair! Our friends at Garnier have given us some samples of their Volume Extend Shampoo and Conditioner. Be sure to check around your college common areas for some samples just for you!

From time to time, we all know that one of the best ways to spruce up our look is to do something with our hair. Often times, the simplest way is to start is by working on hair health. Garnier’s Volume Extend not only will give you volume all day and all night, but it will leave your hair bouncy and fuller. Do you know what’s even better?! The shampoo and conditioner both use an ultra-light weight formula that uses natural ingredients such as fruit fibers, papaya and cucumber extracts to help strengthen your hair. Giving your hair the nutrients it needs to get healthy will only make your hair look great and most importantly, you’ll look great too!

Whether it’s just you with your “long hair, don’t care” or you are getting fancy with your “nails done, hair done, and everything did,” Garnier is looking out for you to always look your best!

Thanks Garnier!

My name is Geraldine Nicdao, a UC Santa Cruz '14 Banana Slug Alum. From day one, I was born and raised a U.S. Navy Brat and spent most of my life growing up in Japan. A few things that I absolutely love are steak, fashion, and travel. I am always striving to go beyond the cookie cutter and constantly defying everybody's expectations. One of my biggest accomplishments to date, would be finishing the Nike Women's Half Marathon in San Francisco 2013. Not many know this, but I also was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and so I've had my fair challenges balancing the life of a college student and the obstacles of health. My philosophy is: "work hard and play harder" because I believe that self care is important which includes rewarding yourself for the hard work that you do- "treat yo' self!". Looking at my Instagram will give you a bit of an insight to my fun and busy bee life. One of my current projects includes the #BangingBootyProject which is a document of my goals, efforts, and strides on my own health and fitness journey. Over the next few years, I am planning to pursue a second degree in Communications and PR/Marketing.
