***DISCLAIMER: These are my personal favorites and I am not being paid to advertise this company/podcasts. I really like them and want to share it with all of you!

There are moments where people do not want to watch tv, movies, scroll through social media. Sometimes people want to relax but still have something to do. Personally, I have had many moments like this, especially during this quarantine. Podcasts are becoming a great medium to learn new information, get a good laugh, and be able to relax at the same time without getting the eye soars of looking at a screen for too long. I have utilized podcasts for a long time; whether that be for my boredom, working out, or any free time I have. There are many different kinds of podcasts out there, something for everyone. However, these are the podcasts that have been keeping me sane for the past year (from school/personal stress and boredom).

These specific podcasts are generated from a company called DIVE Studios. This company was founded back in July 2019 by Eddie Nam (younger brother and manager to singer songwriter Eric Nam). This company is still new, however, it has been getting much attention from international K-pop fans and people alike. Below, are a few podcasts that I personally listen to and honestly love. (ALL OF WHICH ARE IN ENGLISH)

K-pop Daebak w/ Eric Nam: This was the first podcast that DIVE Studios released back in April of 2019. The show’s host is Korean-American singer songwriter Eric Nam. This podcast spotlights K-pop’s best new music of the week. When listening to this podcast you do not only get the knowledge of the newest music and groups/artists, but you get commentary from Eric who is a K-pop star himself. There are times where he would share stories of interactions he has had with the artists and even behind the scenes of what happens at music shows, etc. As a K-pop fan and someone that wants to work in the industry, it is very informative and fun.

How did I get here? w/ Jae of Day6:Ā The host of this podcast is Jae from Korean band Day6. Day6 is a five member band that is under JYP Entertainment, one of the top entertainment companies in Korea, housing artists like 2PM, GOT7, Stray Kids, and Itzy. Jae is the lead guitarist for the band, he was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and moved to California when he was five years old. (So, he is the one in charge of English when he is with the band.) This is one of the random podcasts that I listen to. Jae talks about anything and everything, it is like having a conversation with someone. So, when you want social interaction but physically meeting someone is draining, put on this podcast. It will do you wonders!

Fun Fact: Jae went to Cerritos High School and attended CSU Long Beach!! Woohoo SoCal!!

Commit or Quit: This is one of the most recent podcasts that has been released. The main reason this podcast came to be is because of the quarantine. This one is hosted by the Nam brothers themselves; Eric, Eddie, and Brian (the youngest of the three siblings). This podcast walks through the discussions and commentary the brothers have on Korean films and dramas, both the newest/hottest shows and the classics. It goes through their reactions before they finally decide whether they will continue watching the drama/film or not. (Commit to it or Quit it). I’ve been caught up with this show because these are all dramas that I watched and loved (at least the most recent episodes that are released). So, I like listening to the commentary and hearing their opinions on a drama I really liked. If you are someone that is new to Korean dramas/films or want more suggestions on what to watch. Listen to this podcast and you will get plenty of suggestions and reviews!

There are a few others as well. The Tablo Podcast, What Would Jamie Do?, I Think You’re Dope w/ Eric Nam, and Cheers to What’s Next. All these podcasts are their own, different themes/genres. Talks from music to daily life, with special guests, and hilarious interactions. Anyone can find what they like with any one of these podcasts. Another amazing part about these podcasts is that they are on most platforms, from Spotify, Apple, Soundcloud, and even YouTube. There are only a few podcasts that are actually filmed and all of the ones listed above are. Go check them out! I promise youā€¦.you will not be disappointed!
