Top 5 Finals Week Study Motivations

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCSD chapter.

It is the week all collegiettes dread; we suddenly see a bunch of people in our classes that we haven’t seen before, we smell a horrid stench in Geisel, and we sense academic desperation in each student’s typing fingers. Finals week is horrible and seems like an endless loop of studying, so Her Campus UCSD has come up with 5 things to get you motivated to study well! Good luck with finals collegiettes!

1. Your Future

Yes, preparing for exams feels horrible; however, if you prepare yourself sufficiently, think of the high GPA you will be receiving this quarter. A high GPA can only look good on a resume, which will lead to a better prospective job. Soon enough, the few weeks of studying will pay off in a higher paycheck and a better wardrobe.

2. Spring Break

The future seems far away, but Sping Break isn’t! For each test you ace, think of it as another day to enjoy; as Wiz Khalifa said, “Work Hard, Play Hard”.

3. Treat Yo’ Self

Make yourself a promise that for each exam you do well on, you will buy yourself a treat. Whether that treat is a macaroon at your favorite pastry store, or the dress you have been coveting the entire quarter, get yourself an external motivation. Thinking of eating that delicious baked good, or skipping around in a flowy dress, is sure to get you studying.

4. Have Motivational Quotes

Just as we follow motivational fitness pages on Instagram, make your wallpaper and screensaver a picture concerning finals. If you are a girl who needs straight up advice, go for something like the first quote. If you want an eye-candy motivation, you can’t go wrong with Channing Tatum.

5. Study with Friends

It is ridiculously difficult getting yourself in the “study-mood”. Rely on your friends to give you the study vibe, and make a trip to a cafe or Geisel with your best group of gals. Knowing that you can take a study break with gossip, or go get food with them afterwards, is a great way to motivate yourself to study.
