The 5 Best Lipsticks for Every Makeup Lover

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

If your makeup addiction runs as deep as mine, you’re likely to also be constantly searching for a new lipstick. It’s unfair to limit yourself to one shade of each color — so here are my favorites.

1. Rouge Artist Intense in Satin Rosewood, $20 —  If you’re looking for a simple, pretty shade that always dresses you up, this shade of Satin Rosewood by Make Up For Ever is the one to go with. The lipstick itself goes on very well and it usually feels more like a balm than an actual lipstick to me.

2. Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien, $26 —  To me, NARS lip products are the epitome of luxury. I got this as a sample size in my birthday gift from Sephora, and I’ve been wishing for the real deal ever since. I know that $26 is a pretty steep price, but when they use the word “satin,” they don’t mean it lightly. I’ve never had any lip product go on so smoothly. Plus, it’s the perfect everyday shade.

3. Rouge Cream Lipstick in The Red 04, $12.50 — I’m obsessed with Sephora lipsticks. The price is right, and they’re pretty long-lasting. Their shade of red is perfect, but they also have a variety of different red pigments if you think another might go better with your complexion.

4. Meet Matt(e) Hughes in Committed, $17 — This lipstick is actually a liquid lipstick, which tends to be a more rare find. It has a thicker feeling when applied, but it also lasts for a very long time. The color is the perfect pink-nude combo that is wearable at all hours of the day.

5. Original Lipstick in Flaming Fuchsia, $6.95 — If you’re looking for a steal, DLS Cosmetics has it covered. At just under $7, you could safely purchase quite a few and still stay under the price range of several other lipsticks out on the market. The fuchsia color is a little bolder than I normally tend to wear, but the cost of this lipstick makes it easier to branch out with some colors you wouldn’t normally go for.

Next time you go to Sephora, consider swatching the colors listed here. I can promise that they don’t disappoint.
