7 Reasons We Love The Mindy Project

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

In honor of a new episode of The Mindy Project tonight on FOX, we decided to share seven reasons we love the show:

1.  The men.
Need we say more? Chris Messina (right), who plays Danny Castellano, and Ed Weeks (left), who plays Jeremy Reed, are some great eye candy to keep your attention on the show. James Franco even guest starred in the first few episodes of the latest season. Fingers crossed he makes a reappearance. And well, I guess Mindy isn’t too bad looking herself either.

2.  Mindy knows exactly what to look for in a man.
Hey, the girl has some good taste.

3. The clothes.
Yup. Mindy’s got some style. I love seeing the quirky (but cute) outfits Mindy rocks from week to week.

4. The dating dos and don’ts, but mostly the don’ts.
Throughout the past two seasons, Mindy has stayed relatively single and continues to actively date. However, I wouldn’t exactly follow some of her dating techniques. She’s one of those people who stalks their dates online before she even goes out with them. In my opinion, she also goes for men who are completely wrong for her. Think of these scenes as what not to do on a date.

5. The whole cast.
Sure the entire cast may not look like James Franco, but they are ridiculously funny.

6. Mindy is representing us curvy women.
Rarely do you see a woman with curves being the main character of a hit television show. Usually the curvy women are cast as the best friend or the sidekick but never the lead. It’s refreshing to watch a main character I can actually relate to.

7. The (hopefully) budding romance between Danny and Mindy.
It’s the love story all of us ladies fall for — the “When Harry Met Sally” type deal. We love the idea of falling in love with our best friends. All throughout the show you’ll be screaming: “Why don’t they hook up already!” I love watching just to see if anything will ever happen between those two.

Catch The Mindy Project tonight on FOX at 9:30!
