Although many of us Gators are Florida natives, some of our homes are much farther away than a quick drive. For Madison Dolan, home is on another continent. An easy way to remind herself of her home in Panama is to wear accessories representing her culture. In addition to her amazing jewelry, Madison was rocking sandals, printed shorts and a tank top. I spotted her in Little Hall, and I couldn’t wait to learn more about her arm candy. Keep reading to learn more about Madison’s personal style!
Name: Madison Dolan
Age: 18
Year: Freshman
Major: Biology
Her Campus: What are you wearing and where is it from?
Madison Dolan: “I’m wearing printed shorts with this maroon shirt. The sandals are from Nine West. This shirt is from Bershka. I believe the shorts are from T.J. Maxx. This wrap-around leather bracelet is from Tory Burch. This watch is Fossil. My earrings are just little pearl studs. My anklet is from Panama. I’m from Panama, and my native people named Kuna make these wrap bracelets called weenies. It’s normal to get one when you leave to remind you of your home.”
HC: What is your favorite part about your outfit?
MD: “My favorite part is the combination of the watch and the bracelet. I think they go really well together. I think it makes everything look more sophisticated when you have a watch on.”
HC: How do you like to shop when you’re in Gainesville?
MD: “I love to online shop. Gainesville shopping isn’t my favorite, but I’ve heard that thrifting is really good here. I really want to go out and try that. I online shop anywhere though. Anywhere that is having a sale or a place that has something that I’m looking for. Forever 21, Macy’s and Nordstrom are some of my favorites.”
HC: Who is your style icon?
MD: “My style icon is my mom. She always dresses really well and put together, and I always want to emulate that. I don’t really like low-cut or short clothes. I like to look put together. I also like Blake Lively from Gossip Girl. She dresses a little more revealing than I’d like to, but she still dresses really well. It’s not so much trendy as it is classic.”
