The Collegiette’s™ Gym Bag Essentials

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

Some ladies may think the gym is one of the few places you can go without a pouch full of beauty products, but UF Collegiette’s™ know that we have to approach our workouts prepared. How prepared exactly? You already know to keep your bottle of water at hand to keep your body hydrated, but here are some other essentials that you’ll need before, during and after your workout.

Before

Have your eyes looking bright and awake when you step into the gym by applying waterproof mascara before you leave home. You don’t have to apply a full face of makeup, but a little mascara can go a long way. Just think about it; with bright and awake eyes, you’ll be able to notice that cute boy lifting weights across the room. And knowing that the cute boy noticed you noticing him, you’ll be even more motivated to kill that workout. So, let mascara be the exception. Go ahead and bat those sweat-proof lashes.

During

You’ve got your iPod on full blast to LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” and your water bottle on deck, but then you start to feel the sweat beads forming on your hairline. Ditch those rough, brown paper towels and reach for a cute hand towel to battle sweaty situations instead.

After

Now that you’ve burned all the calories from that burger at lunch, you’re feeling great. But, there’s always a slight problem — that gross, sweaty, muggy smell after a hard workout. Instead of rushing to shower, bring a light body mist that you can spritz all over your body and hair to freshen up. It’s quick and easy. And who knows, maybe that cutie you spotted earlier will ask you out for a quick bite at the local frozen yogurt joint. (It’s light in calories!)

Born in New York, she moved to Orlando, Florida with her family 6 years ago and is now residing in Gainesville, Florida, thus experiencing life in both urban and rural areas. When she isn't watching E!, obsessing over Gossip Girl, working part-time at Hollister, singing along to Taylor Swift's songs, shopping, or baking, Karina enjoys journaling, taking photos around campus, and spending time with her friends and family. Because she's interested in fashion, music and journalism, after college Karina hopes to move back to New York City and land a job at a prominent magazine. (Because magazines aren't dead.) ♥
