What do Zayn Malik, Serena Williams and Kendall Jenner all have in common? They’re all a part of this week’s hottest celeb buzz in your Entertainment10.
1. March 25, 2015, will forever be known as the day the earth stood still, as news broke that Zayn Malik had left One Direction. Malik announced that he was leaving the group on 1D’s official Facebook. “My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I’d like to apologize to the fans if I’ve let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight,” he said. Horan, Payne, Styles and Tomlinson will continue their remaining world tour and will also record their fifth album due to be released later this year.
2. Serena Williams dances it out to her own “7/11” remake. Beyoncé’s music video for her hit song “7/11” has yet another reenactment as tennis star Serena Williams made her own music video for the song. In conjunction with Williams’ Vogue cover, the 33-year-old showed she can do more than just kill it on the court as she dances and goofs around with a GoPro camera at the BallenIsles Country Club. Williams’ moves were so awesome that Queen Bey even took notice, posting the re-make video to her Facebook with the caption “So Cute Serena Williams!”
3. Kendall Jenner is killing the modeling game, adding another campaign to her already impressive list. This time it’s the historic Calvin Klein Jeans’ #mycalvins denim series campaign that will be graced with one of the fashion world’s hottest new models. “Modeling for Calvin Klein Jeans is really a dream come true,” Jenner said. “I’ve grown up wearing the brand and seeing the iconic advertising in magazines and on billboards featuring some of the world’s top supermodels. To now be a part of that legacy is truly an honor.” The 19-year-old model is also the face for Calvin Klein underwear and Estee Lauder.
4. Cissy Houston breaks the silence about her comatose granddaughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown. The mother of the late Whitney Houston spoke with New York radio station WBLS FM 107.5 about her 22-year-old granddaughter’s condition. “She’s the same,” Houston said on the radio show. “We’ve moved her to a place for rehabilitation. And you know, still not a great deal of hope. [We’re] still praying.” Houston also said, “I don’t pray like that. I give it to God one time, because I know he’s able… I cannot change a thing. I’m asking everybody: ‘Just pray to the Lord who we know can do something about it. If he works a miracle, thank God. If it happens the other way, I’m alright.”
5. Chris Brown’s ex, Karreuche Tran, opens up about their relationship. While Brown and Tran seemed to rely on social media bickering to do most of the talking for the relationship, Tran sat down with OWN’s Iyanla Vanzant for a special interview. The show, which premiered March 28 on OWN, showed Tran discussing her four-year tumultuous relationship with Brown, her love triangle with Brown and Rihanna and even Breezy’s reported child. The interview comes three weeks after the model’s split from the singer.
6. Jon Hamm opens up about his recent 30-day stint in rehab. This week, news broke that the Mad Men star completed treatment for alcohol abuse last month. The 44-year-old actor, whose Mad Men character struggles with substance abuse as well, opened up to Australia’s TV Week on Wednesday, saying, “Life throws a lot at you sometimes, and you have to deal with it as much as you can. I’ve been very fortunate that throughout the most recent 24-hour period, I’ve had a lot of family and friends support me.”
7. Kerry Washington is an award-winning actress, fashionista, mother, wife, activist and now a labor tweeter?! If you’re a Scandal fan, you know that Washington’s Thursday night tweets are as anticipated as Shonda-Land Thursdays themselves, and their importance to the show’s fans isn’t lost on the Scandal star. This week, Washington opened up to Net-a-Porter’s The Edit magazine about tweeting while she was in labor. “Every Thursday within three weeks of my (daughter Isabelle’s) due date, I loaded up pre-tweets based on the episodes and what I would want to say. I tweeted in the very early stages of my labor. I figured that if I went completely silent on social media then people would know I was in the hospital!”
8. Christina Milian finally opens up about her relationship with Lil Wayne. Milian, who is the cover model for Latina magazine’s May 2015 issue, opened up to the mag about her not-so-secret relationship with the rap mogul. “The deal is he’s my man… crush. I think he’s awesome. He and I have a very special relationship, and I think I’ve always been very careful with it publicly because when you have something special it’s like everybody picks apart words. They’ll pick apart a moment in a picture and take something that’s special and trash it.” Rumors about the couple’s relationship have been swirling since last year’s BET Awards.
9. Jaden and Willow Smith are performing together this summer! The Smith siblings, who are known for their bizarre, yet entertaining behavior, will continue to entertain us as they’re set to perform together at the 2015 New Look Wireless Festival.
