As the sun begins to set and 20-somethings stroll by, double
Gator, Johnny McLean locks the bike he used during his college
years at the University of Florida to a bike rack outside of
Weimer Hall, the location of the College of Journalism and
Communications.

McLean, who received his Bachelor’s of Arts in
Creative Writing from the University in 1980, developed a passion
for journalism during his undergraduate degree. During that time,
he was a columnist for New Look Magazine and Gainesville Magazine.
McLean also freelanced for The Independent Florida Alligator, The
Kansas City Star, The New Orleans Times Picayune, The Ocala Star
Banner, The Gainesville Sun, and The Miami Herald.

McLean returned to the university in 1994 to pursue his love of journalism and
achieved his Masters of Arts in Journalism in 1995. It was for
this reason that McLean felt his bike, with a back pouch just big
enough for a reporter’s notebook, should end up at the College of
Journalism and Communications.

Hola! My name is Victoria and it is a pleasure to meet you. I was born and raised in Key West, Fla. Surprisingly; people do actually live there. I'm a fourth year journalism student at the University of Florida, and I am obsessed with food. I watch ungodly amounts of the Food Network. I love to dance, write and swim to my hearts content. I don't know what I would do without my Crackberry and listening to the Silversun Pickups makes me sane.
