She started living for the applause 30 years ago today. Today, March 28, marks the milestone 3-0 birthday of Manhattan’s own Stefani Germanotta – otherwise known to the world as Lady Gaga.
Gaga first came into the music scene in 2008 with her debut singles “Just Dance” and “Poker Face,” both of which rocketed straight to No. 1 on the Billboard charts. With her following albums, Gaga increasingly became known for her outlandish costumes and wild stage antics. She arrived to the 2011 Grammys in an egg-shaped vessel, a step up from her 2010 MTV Video Music Awards appearance in a dress made entirely out of raw meat.
Since her last solo album, Artpop, in 2014, Gaga has dialed down the bizarre – she got engaged, started acting in a TV show and made music with Tony Bennett.
Whether she’s in raw meat or Versace, Gaga never fails to amaze with her incredible showmanship and unparalleled vocal talent. She’s more fabulous than all of us combined, but that’s okay. She can’t help that she was born this way. To celebrate the legend that is the Gaga, let’s take a moment to reflect on some of Mother Monster’s best moments throughout her career. Here’s a breakdown of her top 14 moments.
