With October on the horizon, the Fall semester is now in full swing. Whether this semester is your first or you’re nearing the end of your UF journey, we all have the opportunity to be fashionable despite our busy schedules. One surefire way to cut down on time spent picking out your outfit and to still look chic is to rock a dress. Dresses do not require you to match a top and a bottom, and they still allow you to be stylish. I spotted this collegiette, Leah Miller, pairing an orange and blue shift dress with some delicate jewelry on Turlington Plaza. As a graduate student, she had some great advice to share, so if you want to hear some fashion tips from an experienced Gainesville shopper, keep reading!
Name: Leah Miller
Age: 23
Year: graduate student
Major: Masters in International Business
Her Campus: What are you wearing? Leah Miller” “This dress is from Dillard’s. It was on sale. My shoes are from ALDO and then this necklace my friend ordered online. She got my monogram in it.”
HC: What are your favorite Gainesville stores? LM: “I do still love to hit up the department stores like Macy’s and Dillard’s, but I definitely like to shop at Henri Girl. Also Francesca’s at the mall and Forever 21. Got to hit those up for a lot of clothes! I go to Wolfgang. It’s really good, too.”
HC: Is there a TV character’s style you would want to steal? LM: “Oh my gosh yes, but I could never do it! I love Serena from Gossip Girl. If I lived in New York I would try to do it, but I give her serious props.”
HC: What is your favorite item in your closet? LM: “My favorite item in my closet, I actually wore them to graduation, are these Sarah Jessica Parker orange pointed-toe heels with a bedazzled strap on the top. They’re simple, but they’re cute. They’re my favorite.”
HC: Which clothing item would you spend the most amount of money on if you were given the opportunity?  LM: “I’m a big fan of dresses. They’re great for meetings, but I think they are just easy to slip on, so I think I would spend a great amount on dresses just because they are easy to get on in the morning.”
HC: Do you have any fashion tips for other Gators? LM: “I think you should just rock what you want. If you’re scared to put it on, just try it. I don’t really have a set style, but if I see something I like, why not wear it? Rock it, too!”
