You may have started working towards your spring break swimsuit body, but you need to actually find a swimsuit first! Whether you’re celebrating the first break of the spring semester in your hometown with family or hitting South Beach with friends, your swimsuit has to look H-O-T and hot on you.
Channel some of the designers’ styles seen at the Mercedes Benz SWIM week (but, of course, from your favorite affordable stores), as Her Campus lays out the season’s hottest swimwear trends.
Not Your Basic One-Piece
Upgrade that basic one-piece and add some sex appeal with a one-shoulder strap or cutouts. Aqua di Lara included this sexy cutout black suit in its collection, while Swimwear Anywhere’s collection included this eye-popping one-shoulder suit with a funky pattern.
Lingerie It Out
If you’re planning to make a statement this coming break, you’ll surely do it with a controversial lingerie-inspired swimsuit. Many designers, such as Beach Bunny and Poko Pano, showed swimwear during their spring fashion shows that closely resembled lingerie pieces. Taking on this trend this spring will have your femininity speaking volumes. Just make sure to stay classy with demure lace and delicate colors.
The Not So Hard Wear: Hardware
If you feel you just don’t have the guts to slip into a sexy cut-out swimsuit or a two-piece that looks like a lacy bra and panty, you can try this trend that’ll keep you looking stylish without having all eyes on you. Take a simple suit accented with hardware, like Caffe Swimwear did with a lot of items in its collection.
O-shaped rings between the triangles of the bikini or pieces on both sides of your bikini bottom will make a great statement that’s not too over-the-top. Match the hardware of the swimsuit with large jewelry and sandals to glam it up. But don’t expect not to turn heads!
