UFashion: Thanksgiving-Friendly Outfits

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

The holidays will soon be upon us, and this includes one of the most delicious days of the year: Thanksgiving. In light of all the tempting dishes and activities heading your way at the end of this month, it’s a good idea to have the right outfit ready for every occasion so you can comfortably enjoy the holiday with friends and family all while looking your best.

Formal
I have the perfect outfit if your Thanksgiving is more of a formal, dress code-esque occasion: an A-line dress. This dress style is flattering on just about every body type. The flare at the bottom is perfect for hiding that big meal you’ll be digging into.  Make the dress all your own with a statement necklace, eye-catching heels, tights or a printed belt. Also, make sure your dress is long enough so you won’t have to worry about flashing anyone while trying to keep up with your little cousins.

Casual
If your family is anything like mine, they’re super laid back and like to keep things simple. You can stay comfy and cute with a jeans and sweater combo. Try a pair of stretchy jeans so you won’t feel like you’re being stuffed like the turkey you just chowed down on and a big sweater so you have a little extra room. Finish off the look with your favorite pair of flats and simple accessories so you’ll be ready for every picture perfect moment.

Friendly Feast
Planning on staying in town for Thanksgiving and hosting your own dinner with some friends? Combine the two outfits above while still staying comfortable as you serve your guests. A loose-fitting sweater or maybe a chiffon top with a high-waisted skirt and heels will give you an effortlessly chic outfit you can easily move around in. It also wouldn’t be a bad idea to keep your outfit composed of darker colors to hide those possible spills of wine or food (It’s bound to happen eventually).

In the end, what’s most important is to be thankful for all you have and enjoy every minute spent with your loved ones this holiday.
As always, keep looking good!
