Valentine Fashion: Outfits Cupid Would Approve Of

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

Love is in the air. It’s that time of year when red and pink are the only colors you see, sweethearts have replaced the gum at the CVS counters and Edible Arrangements are constantly making deliveries.

You might have a valentine, heck, maybe even two! You’ve made plans, but as any collegiette, one question remains —what are you going to wear? Check out these fabulous ideas for any romantic date, whether it’s bowling and a stop at the ice cream shop or a romantic dinner at a fancy restaurant followed by a movie.

Bowling + Ice Cream
The key for dressing for a bowling match is being cute enough to distract your valentine from making strikes, but dressing comfortable enough to make some impressive strikes of your own. Match a pair of skinny jeans with a cozy cardigan and a lace tank for a comfortable yet chic outfit. Add a bit of romantic flair with pearl or diamond accessories. And finish it off with classic flats.

Jeans, Abercrombie & Fitch, $68
Cardigan, Hollister, $50
Lace Tank, Hollister, $9.90
Pearls, Forever 21, $4.80
Flats, Tory Burch, $235

Dinner + Movie
Valentine’s Day dinners only come once a year, providing a great excuse to really get all dolled up.  So don’t hesitate to wear the pink lace dress you haven’t removed the tags off of. Add an edgy pair of shoes, such as open-toed pumps or booties. Complete the look with bold accessories, such as a ring or bracelet that dazzles and a clutch.

Pink Lace Dress, Forever 21, $17.80
Black Pump, Jessica Simpson Collection, $89
Ring, Forever 21, $4.80
Clutch, Lulu Guinness, $465

Karina Cuevas is currently enrolled as a freshman at the University of Florida, Class of 2014, as a Journalism and Political Science double-major and a German and Business Administration double-minor. Born in New York, she moved to Orlando, Florida with her family 6 years ago and is now residing in Gainesville, Florida, thus experiencing life in both urban and rural areas. When she isn't watching E!, obsessing over Gossip Girl, working part-time at Hollister, singing along to Taylor Swift's songs, shopping, or baking, Karina enjoys journaling, taking photos around campus, and spending time with her friends and family. Because she's interested in fashion, music and journalism, after college Karina hopes to move back to New York City and land a job at a prominent magazine. (Because magazines aren't dead.) ♥
