Riverdale has recently blessed our screens once again, every Wednesday night. In the words of Juggy, this “film noir” world that Riverdale lives in is unrealistic. A new murder every week and a steamy new hook up, okay fine, I’ll believe it, but KJ Apa playing a sophomore in high school? It’s a little bit of a stretch. I mean really, the entire cast of Riverdale is 20-somethings that look like they all descended from heaven. There was never a sophomore in my high school that could nail Jughead Jones’ perfect brooding look quite like Cole Sprouse can. In reality, the entire cast of Riverdale should be in college right now, so that got me thinking: What would the characters of Riverdale look like at the University of Florida?
Archie Andrews
Last season, I would’ve put Archie in as a music major, hands down, but this season, I’m not seeing it. Archiekins belongs in the ROTC program where he would learn to take out some of his aggression and make himself and the town feel a little bit safer. You could find him at South West at the weights working on his fitness. How else is he supposed to keep those washboard abs that Ronnie loves so much?
Cheryl Blossom
Cheryl is the girl on campus that can be in her 8 a.m. class and still look flawless with her hair done and a full face of makeup. She’d be on the dance team at UF and most likely be spearheading a personal campaign for Dance Marathon. Cheryl would also be living the sorority life, posting the cutest pictures with her big and sporting the best game-day outfits. Just make sure not to get on her bad side.
Betty Cooper
You could find Betty in the newsroom of Weimer, working on her latest story as a journalism major. When she isn’t uncovering dark truths, she’s giving tours as a Florida Cicerone. Betty is the welcoming face that’ll get all the new UF students clamoring to be a part of Gator Nation.
Jughead Jones
Juggy would spend most of his time sitting in a darkened corner at Maude’s nursing a cup of black coffee, while he writes the latest chapter to his murder mystery novel. There’s no question that he’s a creative writing major who’s working to be published by the time he graduates. Jughead spends most of his time brooding and trying to stay out of trouble, but it always seems to find him.
Veronica Lodge
Veronica (also known as Ronnie) is a sorority girl on the fast track to becoming a women’s rights lawyer. Ronnie is big on getting justice for women, and the best way she knows how to is to become a lawyer. After being duped by her own parents one too many times, she would have made the decision learn to read the fine print a little more carefully. But, it’s not all work for Ronnie, you can find her and the gang down in Mid on the weekends living it up at the Social or grabbing a bite to eat before heading to a house party.
Josie McCoy
Josie is a music major, and she’s constantly promoting her band. On the weekends she’s playing with the Pussy Cats at the High Dive and gaining new fans along the way. Josie would also be one of the lucky music major students that gets to chime the Century Tower bells.
Each character would thrive in Gainesville, and let’s be real, I think they could all use a little vacation from Riverdale. Let us know your favorite character from Riverdale in the comments below!
