Since September, when the concert “Love on Tour” kicked off, my Tik Tok and Instagram pages have been flooded with Harry Styles content; and trust me, I am not complaining. Like many people around my age (20), growing up, loving One Direction was an imperative part of our character development. When this iconic boyband split up, fans never could have predicted the success that stemmed from the group’s solo careers; especially Harry Styles’.

His first self-titled album was a hit with its alternative sounds and aesthetically pleasing style. While Styles’ music is the primary indicator of success in his career, supporters continue to fall in love with his personality and essence‒ myself included.

Styles’ style has recently become an emblem in the fashion industry. Vogue conducted an interview and photoshoot with Styles in December 2020, where he confidently posed in a dress and skirt.

“I find myself looking at women’s clothes, thinking they’re amazing,” Styles said to Vogue.

His fashion sense has consistently been daring. He has even been referenced as “one of the best-dressed musicians in the world.”

Styles’ fashion sense is not only appreciated because it is bold and out-of-the-box, but he acknowledges that his influences come from female fashion designers. Original content produced by women, including fashion, must be protected. The end goal in the industry is equal representation. Styles always recognizes his inspirations, and he does it in style.

Harry Styles was dubbed a champion for the LGBTQ+ community. He has made statements such as, “we’re all a little bit gay,” openly supports the LGBTQ+ community, assists fans to come out and waves pride flags at his concerts. Styles is unapologetically himself and supports others who do the same. He truly values his fans and strives towards creating an accepting and inclusive environment at his concerts.

A popular song by Styles, “Treat People with Kindness” emphasizes the idea that we should treat others the way that we want to be treated. How we can treat people with kindness, as told by him, is through embracing what makes us different and unique and is the most authentic version of ourselves.

In the end, many who are not a fan of Styles may wonder why these personal attributes are so damn sexy ‒ yes, I said it, and I meant it. His personality, at a glance, is viewed as feminine; however, the effect is actually the complete opposite. Being unapologetically confident and himself is the manliest thing he could do. To his fans, he is understanding, celebratory of everyone, has the voice of an angel —  what’s not to love about him?
