It’s officially Fall season, so most of us college girls are gathering our plaid scarves and knee-high boots to take the perfect Fall Instagram pic. But where could you pose with a pumpkin in your hand around Gainesville? I’ve got your back (and your Insta theme), ladies. Here are the best places to get that perfect shot.
Trinity United Methodist Church
Last October, my friends and I visited this spot for some cute Fall Insta pics, and it surely did not disappoint. It’s super close to campus, free to enter, and all the proceeds go to the church’s mission trips. It’s a classic stop for pumpkin pics, so there will always be a girl there who will spend the time to take the perfect group photos of you and your friends.
Roger’s Farm
Roger’s Farm is more than your average pumpkin patch. There’s a haunted corn maze, tractor rides, and a petting zoo! Is it designed for children? Of course it is, but we could all use a little bit of childlike whimsy in our lives. Roger’s Farm is located about twenty minutes from campus and costs ten dollars to enjoy the attractions. Pumpkins, strawberries, corn mazes, what gets more Fall than that?
U – Pick Lane
One word: sunflowers. U – Pick Lane in Williston, Florida, not only has the typical pumpkins (which you can pick straight off the vine), but there is also a sunflower patch where you can bring a sunflower home for yourself. Their Fall Festival runs from October 6th to the 29th and opens on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The drive is forty minutes, but if you are willing to put in the time, your feed will be #goals.
Gainesville Church of God Pumpkin Patch
Guys, this place is seriously adorable. There is plenty of pumpkins, hay bales, and a very aesthetically pleasing Fall atmosphere. If you are in the market for a pumpkin, this patch should be first on your list because 100% of the proceeds go to in-need families living in Gainesville and Central America. This will be some of the easiest charity work you will ever do. Gainesville Church of God is less than twenty minutes from campus and is free to enter.
Newberry Cornfield Maze at Hodge Farm
If you’re a fan of Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights, this is the perfect place for you to check out this month. Come as the sun is setting to take those pumpkin pics in the golden hour light, then stay as darkness comes to try to make it out of the haunted corn maze alive. For just fifteen dollars, you can go through the haunted corn maze and the haunted house. Save yourself the long drive and costly ticket of Halloween Horror Nights and enjoy some of Gainesville’s own frights.
Search your closet, grab your friends and check out some of these awesome local patches and festivals. Remember — pics or it didn’t happen.
