3 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Drop Out of College Yet

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UGA chapter.

Spring Break is over. Finals are approaching. There will be no reprieve until summer. The weeks ahead are daunting, and the idea of dropping out of college for a semester (or two) might be pretty tempting right about now. So, here are three reasons why you shouldn’t succumb to the temptation.

1. You’re almost there.

You have made it past the metaphorical Wednesday of the semester. You’re now halfway to the end, and with only six weeks left, it would just be silly to give up now when you’re so close. Let momentum carry you through the final part of this semester!

2. Summer will be 100x better.

The long summer you’ll have after completing your finals will be so much sweeter than it would be if you let up now. The sun will be brighter, the air will be warmer and the nights will be longer: the perfect reward for all your efforts.

3. You get the satisfaction of actually finishing.

Nothing feels better than walking out of that last final exam, knowing that whatever the outcome, you’re done. The class is over and you survived. Not to mention that the next time you see that professor of the worst class you could’ve ever signed up for, you’ll be able to look them in the eye knowing they didn’t succeed in scaring you away.

As the last leg of this semester begins, finish strong or finish weak, but just make sure you finish!
