Darren Anglin: Male Gymnast

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UGA chapter.

Darren Anglin is the all around UGA student. This 18 year old sophomore has racked up some pretty impressive stats.. He’s a HOPE scholar, a Delta Sigma Theta Scholar, and not to mention a UGA presidential Scholar. Currently, Darren’s on Dean’s List with a 3.9 GPA and hopes to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations.

Outside of academics, Darren’s passionate about community service. This passion lead Darren to become involved with a plethora of events created and run by the Lambda Delta chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc,  including the recent “Silent Dawg March” which was covered by the Red and Black and Grady Newsource.

When he’s not busy being a nearly perfect student, this colligate participates on the UGA Club Gymnastics team. Additionally, Darren currently hold two positions on the Gymnastic Club board which include: acting officer of public relations and acting officer of fundraising for the club; it’s evident that Darren’s incredibly dedicated to gymnastics. You may also run into Darren at the Bolton Dining Commons here at UGA, where he works part time as a clerical!

It is incredible how Darren’s manages to juggle all of his numerous responsibilities, but it seems that he’s got the perfect formula down pact.

“ I ‘Just do it,’” Darren said. “I can sleep when I’m dead.”

This UGA student is a true embodiment of ambition and dedication.

When he’s not studying, involved in community service events, gymnastics, working, or mentoring, some of Darren’s favorites past times are just hanging out with his friends, and constantly sing off-key in the car. (Who doesn’t love doing this?)

If you ever see this celeb around campus be sure to stop and say hi! He loves making new friends and values.
