Embodying femininity at its best, Glamour Magazine Editor-In-Chief, Cindi Leive, runs a vibrant and bustling magazine and office. After graduating from Swathmore College, Leive immediately followed her journalistic passion and began working at The Paris Review and The Saturday Review. Prior to her Editor-In-Chief debut, Leive worked as Glamour’s deputy chief. This journalism maven is no stranger to editorial positions in magazine industry. Leive also served as the Editor-In-Chief of Self Magazine and NBC’s TODAY Show’s women lifestyle contributor.

Outside of her journalistic endeavors, Leive strives to improve society in every way possible. In 2011, the Avon Foundation for Women awarded Leive the Voice for Change Champion Award. In 2006, Leive received A Lead Her Award from the Girls Learn International for her work to bring Pakistani heroine Mukhtar Mai to the United States for the first time. Leive also serves on the International Women’s Media Foundation Board of Directors.

1. Just Do It! Nike got it right with their slogan. Leive advised fellow journalists work hard even I they find tasks to be menial! Leive says “You have to do what the ask [you to do], even if it’s a grind.”
2. Be Aggressive! Be Be Aggressive! Leive endorses persistency when applying for a job. Don’t expect the opportunity to happen. Go out and find it! Leive advised job seekers “Tenacity. [That’s] what separates people who get the job from people who don’t” Leive says.
