During your college career, there are moments you look forward to and others that you rather not bring up ever again. Luckily, Spring Break is a highlight for almost every college student. It’s the time where you tone up, eat healthy, and enjoy a week of fun with your closest friends. It’s also a time where you relax during the day and party all night long without a care in the world. Ready or not bulldogs, Spring Break is right around the corner.
Whether you decide to stay at home and spend some quality time with your family or visit the hottest vacation spots or beaches, you’ll definitely need a couple of things to have a memorable Spring Break.
Friends
To guarantee a fun-filled Spring Break consider getting in contact with your closest friends. Due to different schools having different Spring Breaks, try to plan a trip that incorporates a few days from you and all of your friends’ breaks. Even if it’s just a three-day road trip or a weeklong vacation, with a little effort you can plan an unforgettable trip.
Money
Like most things in life, money is a deciding factor for Spring Break plans. To offset some of the cost or help your fund, there are many money-making opportunities around campus including the dining hall, the Calling Center, and the main bookstore. By ensuring you have ample funds, you have the ability to splurge a little bit, and don’t have to sit anything out with your friends. Make sure to calculate in travel costs, hotel costs, food allowance and extra money for souvenirs or unexpected side trips. Believe it or not, there’s still enough time to find a job and make a little extra cash.
Location
Location can make or break your Spring Break. Whether you decide to stay at home or head out on the road with friends, location is key. Keep in mind that safety comes first. Consider doing research on the location before you actually head there by checking out reviews of restaurants, hot spots, or bars that both locals and tourists enjoy. This will only make your trip much more enjoyable by preparing you better for a place you may have never been.
Transportation
Airplane tickets, gas prices, and cruise rates oh my! Along with thinking of the perfect idea for Spring Break, a mode of transportation is a must. As easy as it may sound, obtaining the perfect transportation suitable for you and your friends can actually be quite stressful. Consider booking your flights and cruises really soon, if you already haven’t. Prices will just increase as the break draws nearer.
Hotel Reservations
There’s nothing more nerve-wracking than arriving to your destination with no hotel reservations. And it’s important to keep in mind that the university isn’t the only school on break during this week. With that said, make sure to book hotel reservations early in advance and confirm them at least two weeks prior to your arrival. Avoid unneeded mishaps by being responsible and make sure you have checked over everything before you leave!
Clothing
Whether you are hitting the beach or hitting the slopes, what to wear plays a huge role in making your trip successful. If you’ll be spending your week off in warmer weather a few cute bikinis, flirty sundresses and lots of sandals are a must. Flirt has some great bathing suit choices and Pitaya have racks of bright colored dresses if you still need to stock up. If you’re spending the break in the cold layers are a necessity. Make sure to pack a lot of scarves, hats, mittens, sweaters and thick tights. Having the appropriate attire will help in making your trip go off with ease. Â
Although Spring Break is a time for fun in the sun with friends, it also requires a great deal of responsibility. Whether you decide to hit up your local beach or head up to the mountains with a couple of friends, make sure you’re familiar with where you are going. And if you don’t know where you’re going, make sure someone knows. By resting up and having fun over your Spring Break, you’ll be more than ready to finish off the semester and get back to vacationing.
Be safe, be responsible, but most importantly have fun!
