The 5 Best Things To Do Now That the Weather Is Cooling Off (Sort Of)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UGA chapter.

It may still be a little hot, but it’s officially October! This month means the weather is starting to drop slowly…very slowly. However, since Georgia weather is insane, we don’t know how long this “fall” will officially last, so let’s take advantage of every moment!

Study outside

When the temperature doesn’t feel like the sun hates you, finding a nice area on a lawn or a nice place to study on a bench feels nice. Live your college fantasy and find a nice shady spot on Myers Quad with a Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew and get that work done!

Finding a nice park or pathway to walk or hike with friends is a perfect way to take advantage of the weather and be outside for a little. Dudley and Memorial Park are located in the Athens-Clarke County area.

Movie Nights

Some of the best memories come from spending time with the people you love, so have a movie night! Grab your friends and all the snacks you can imagine, then have a blast. Outside movie nights are the best, especially for the days where it feels a little chilly or rainy.

Fall photoshoot

One of the best things about fall is the fashion and the ability to layer clothing in such a cute way. Find an attractive location, put on your best sweater, overalls, platform boots, and say cheese!

Picnic

When the weather is fantastic, picnics are always a must. Find a cute area near nature, pack all your favorite foods, and enjoy the outdoors before winter comes.

Take advantage of the coolish weather when it comes around. Happy Fall Y’all!
