What are you involved with on campus? Pre Law Society and Greek Life

What is your favorite thing about UIC? Probably the location, since it’s near downtown and the diversity of the students.

What is your least favorite thing about UIC? I live all the way in Elmwood Park so the far commute sucks. I’m also not a big fan of the brutalist design of the buildings. 

What are your plans after graduation? For now my educational goal is Pre-Law but since I’m only a freshman maybe that will change.

Favorite place to eat? Chipotle is life

What are your hobbies? Painting, crafting, eating. 

What’s something that people don’t really know about you? I was born in Mielec, Poland, and I am fluent in Polish.

What kind of music are you into? Edm, Trap, and Hip Hop. I love going to concerts and music festivals in the summer. 

What’s your favorite animal? A sea turtle, they’re super chill and always happy.

What’s your favorite movie? I’m a sucker for romantic comedies. Some of my favorites are The Wedding Singer, 50 First Dates, anything with Adam Sandler is gold.

If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to? I like the 2000s. I love the Britney era, and i’m still waiting for a Backstreet Boys comeback world tour.

Tenzin Moenkyi was born in the small village of Dharamsala, India where many Tibetan refugees reside. At a young age she immigrated to Rogers Park, a diverse Chicago neighborhood located on the north side. The issues regarding Tibet's political turmoil with China along with those in her community in the city made her passionate about political affairs and social justice. Currently, she is a Junior at the University of Illinois at Chicago double-majoring in Economics and Politcal Science. She is her chapter's treasurer of the national sorority Phi Sigma Sigma, a writer for HerCampus Magazine, and model for Stewart Talent Agency. Catch her modeling in this year's Chicago Fashion Week on October 15th!

Claudia was born in Mexico and moved to Chicago at the age of 8. She is currently attending the University of Illinois at Chicago as a Marketing major. She is really excited to be a part of the HerCampus team and is ready to make HC grow at UIC. She can’t go a day without exercising and especially enjoys Zumba!
