We are partnering with Lambda Zeta Chi to promote their upcoming mental health awareness event on campus, called “Smashing Stigmas.”Â
As October is nearing an ending and Fall weather is in full effect, there isn’t a better time than to do some fun, Fall/Halloween activities. As a current Flame, it’s always nice to participate in local activities not only for the seasonal spirit but to show your school spirit as well.Â
As part of their philanthropy, a local sorority at UIC, Lambda Zeta Chi is hosting a “Smashing Stigmas” event on October 31st, 2017 starting at 11:00 am on the quad. One of their philanthropies is mental health awareness, through The National Alliance on Mental Health. Lambda Zeta Chi will be selling pumpkins for $3.00 for any students interested in “smashing” a mental health stigma. Simply, write the stigma on the pumpkin, and smash away as a symbol of rejuvenating your mental health.
This is a great opportunity to participate in a Fall activity through campus, but also promote mental safety for students who are facing stigmas and/or will soon need to overcome “Finals week” stress. “Smash a stigma,” and give yourself peace of mind!
