Going on a road trip? Here are some great snacks to take!

This weekend, my best friend and I decided that we were going to go on a road trip to visit our bestie in Ohio. So, we sat there and contemplated what we were going to take on this road trip. Here are some essentials we came up with:

Water

Of course, water is a staple to have. You always need water to stay hydrated. Since you are on the road, you do not want to drink too much water, you may need to make stops than you’d like because of the necessary bathroom breaks.

Granola Bars

Granola bars are easy to eat on the road! Get yourself a protein bar and you will be filled for quite some time.

Some Fruit

Fruit is hard to maintain on the road. So, sticking to fruits like apples, peaches, and bananas will be your best bet. Having complex fruits like pineapple, watermelon, and melon are a project of their own. Cutting them up and storing them in containers to take with you on your road trip is easier and theĀ fruit is ready to eat rightĀ away–make sure to put them in a cooler to keep them refrigerated.

Sandwiches

Making sandwiches is a great on-the-go meal, but keeping it refrigerated can be hard. So, what my bestieĀ and I decided is to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches which will last longer unrefrigerated.

Nuts and Popcorn

Having nuts and popcorn are easy snacks to bring along. This is what we stuck with! Other snacks, like chips and graham crackers, are also easy to take along.
