Owning a dog is a full-time job matched with responsibility, care, love and so much more. Dog owners are each very unique, but they all have a few characteristics in common when it comes to caring for their pups.
Â
- You carry around a lint-roller
Unless you own a hybrid or short hair dog, odds are that in the middle of your chemistry class you’ve looked down and found a few stray pieces of dog hair on your leggings. Then, you look on down and realize it is all over your cashmere scarf too.
Â
- Never knowing where your paycheck went
One of the biggest weaknesses is going into a discount store like Home Goods or Ross and casually strolling by the toys and treats section. That “It is only $5!” adds up way too fast.

Constantly cleaning the living room
If you are like me, your dog probably has somewhere between 15 to 30 toys, maybe more. It does not matter how many times you put all their toys back in the basket; Leave them alone for five minutes and when you come back, it is like they were never put away.

You are paranoid over smells
It is way too often your pup will find something and eat it, even if they are totally not supposed to and they know it. Every time you smell something the least bit off you assume your dog could not hold it or they have eaten something they shouldn’t have.

Always looking for dog-friendly places
Let us face it, they are your best friend! You are always hopping on Google to check if Target or McDonald’s will allow your fur baby inside.

Having a dog myself, I know what it is like and sometimes, the struggle is real! However, at the end of the day it is always worth it for your fur baby!
