Recently, there has been an influx of people deciding to use organic tampons and pads. This has become a new ‘trend’ because it is new and popular, but I think that it might be here to stay because it is sustainable and realistic. Saving money and being more environmentally conscious are never going out of style.
Organic tampons are a new trend that I was skeptical about, but after reading about it I was completely sold on the concept. Regular tampons have toxins in them that can be absorbed through the vagina, which is why they have recently become popular. The tampons and pads that I prefer to use are from ‘L’, and are sold at Target. They are made with certified- organic cotton, and are also pesticide, fragrance, chlorine, and dye-free. A box of 30 tampons is $6.99, which is on the less expensive end of organic tampons.
Menstrual cups are my favorite alternative to regular pads. In my opinion, they are easy and fool proof. You literally, insert the cup, let it collect blood for 10-12 hours, and then dump. One of my favorite benefits of using a menstrual cup is it rarely leaks, saving so many pairs of funderwear. Another perk to using a menstrual cap is that you only have to buy it once, and you just keep reusing it. Not only is it cost effective, it is environmentally friendly.
