Clarissa Ward is world-renowned journalist who is currently the chief international correspondent for CNN. She was born in New York, New York, and spent a lot of her childhood in London and at boarding schools. “On All Fronts” is Wards first book; it details her life from childhood to how she became a journalist, and her journalistic work throughout her career.Â
This book is a must read if you are an aspiring journalist, or are interested in foreign relations, political conflicts in the Middle East and Russia. Ward is blunt and truthful in her book, showcasing the good and bad of being a wartime and foreign correspondent. She also includes important tips and tricks for upcoming journalists throughout her book.Â
Ward has been nominated for the News & Documentary Emmy Award for Outstanding Feature Story in Newscast in 2012, 2013, 2014Â and 2015. She has covered and brought light to multiple issues in the Middle East, and ongoing conflicts amongst terrorist regimes and the U.S for years. She brings amazing insight into the lives of people she comes across in her career as a journalist in places all over the globe as well.Â
She has worked for Fox, ABC, CBS and CNN, and her journey through all of these news stations is detailed in her book in a fun, blunt and humorous way – with moments of stark and harsh realizations throughout. As a woman, reporting in these foreign places is both hard and dangerous, but Ward persists through all of the challenges she comes across. Due to this, she is an amazing journalist for women to look up to.Â
I would rate this book a 10 out of 10. It is an amazing read and once you start, it is very hard to put the book down! You can purchase the book on Amazon, Chapters Indigo and Penguin Random House. Â
