The start of fall to me is sweatshirts & shorts, bonfires with friends and long walks while the leaves change colors. Don’t forget trips to the pumpkin patch and eating all the candy corn in sight! To make those long walks last and make sure I am taking in all the fresh air I can before winter comes, I pop in my headphones and play some music. You need just the right song for a fall adventure, and lucky for you, I have some great recommendations.
- “we fell in love in october” by girl in red
-
It’s literally in the title: Falling in love in autumn is one my many goals and should be yours as well. The carefree nature of simply watching the stars with the one you love can’t be topped. This song is the perfect start to your fall playlist.
- “Heart of Glass” cover by Miley Cyrus
-
Nobody can deny that Miley Cyrus’s voice is meant to sing rock, and hopefully the overwhelming begging of her fans to release this cover was her wake up call. The video of Cyrus performing this song is stunning, and I truly felt this song deserved a spot on my fall playlist and hopefully yours as well.
- “Drunk on Halloween” by Wallows
-
Another one that literally puts it in the title. This song embodies the feeling of spending the night out with your best pals on Halloween. Our Halloweens shouldn’t amount to much this year due to the pandemic, but at least you can just sit at home and eat all the candy you please!
- “Hallucinogenics” by Matt Maeson featuring Lana del Rey
-
Now this song––I have no words. The chorus is absolute bliss, and I have never experienced joy like the utter joy I felt yelling this song out the window of my car. Something about the guitar and the harmonies give me the ultimate summer transition into fall vibes.
- “cardigan” by Taylor Swift
-
Grab your warm cardigan after your trip to the pumpkin patch and cozy up for a sunset watching the leaves fall. Released in July, Swift was truly trying to tell us to skip over summer and jump right into the best season of the year.
These are just some of my favorites from my brand new fall playlist on spotify. I would also like to include an honorable mention to Shawn Mendes’s newest single “Wonder,” as it just came out as I am writing this article. It is giving off the same fall love vibes that so many other songs are this season. Any of these songs are perfect additions to your existing fall playlist or can be the jumpstart to a new one
