“There’s no substitute for a great love who says, ‘No matter what’s wrong with you, you’re welcome at this table” – Tom Hanks
Maybe you’re a huge fan of Valentine’s Day, maybe you despise it because you tried to shoot your shot with the girl of your dreams and got rejected on this day. Regardless, love is just a feeling that is quite unforgettable. Love makes you do absolutely crazy things, romantic love that is, mainly. But, there’s nothing wrong about making a complete stranger feel loved… right? Here are just a few acts out of the kindness of your heart (and time) to do to someone you don’t know:
- Put two dozen red roses in a picnic basket or an old lunch box you no longer use and pass it to whomever you see on campus.
Doing this is never a reach, especially on the given day. I learned about this kind act when someone did the exact same thing to me while I was walking and in no way am I exaggerating when I say this, but I truly did feel loved. Doing this to someone you don’t know will most definitely make them feel just a tad bit better when they walk into their 9 am class.
- Complimenting a complete stranger
Giving a compliment to somebody is a no brainer! It always a big boost of confidence to anyone when you mention that you love their style on this particular day. Maybe even a little “your glasses really suit you!” or even a “your smile is gorgeous.” just the little things always matter.
- Showing a stranger online (mutuals on IG or Twitter) some appreciative love
Social media is one of the most important factors in everybody’s lives at the moment. Not only is it a good way to market and gain an audience for a business or organization, but it is also used to make new friends. Commenting on an IG post of a person you follow complimenting their sunglasses or an art piece they decide to showcase is just another way to make a stranger feel loved this Valentine’s Day.
There’s never a dull moment in your life to celebrate a stranger by doing the biggest or littlest things to make sure they feel loved! Of course, there’s a ton of many more gestures, but I’m gonna keep it short and incredibly sweet just like these assorted Valentine’s chocolate truffles I’m going to leave for the person next to me stressed about their Biology exam in an hour.
