Greensboro is an excellent place to volunteer. There are so many opportunities in and around Greensboro to help! Whether you need some ideas for a service-learning course or you just want to get out and give your time to people in need, here are a few ideas for you.
Volunteer with the Center for Visual Artists. Positions range from gallery assistant, studio maintenance, gallery greeters, and gallery opening volunteers. Look into this opportunity if you want to work with artists and learn all about how art galleries are run.
If you love animals…
Volunteer at the Guilford County Animal Shelter. You can volunteer at the shelter and at adoption and community events. Positions include; interacting with dogs or cats, being a lobby greeter, being a photographer for the shelter, and working events.
If you want to make a senior citizen’s day…
Volunteer with Community Hospice. Patients in this program would love someone to talk to and spend time with. Suggested activities include; sitting with a patient while their caregiver is away, preparing and delivering meals, and reading to patients. Â

Volunteer with Greensboro Urban Ministries. They have a variety of volunteer opportunities including; serving at a food pantry, tutoring children, and volunteering at Weaver House Night Shelter.
