Whatever the reason there is that you have chosen or have been forced to stay in Greensboro over the winter break, here are a few tips on what to do over the break in Greensboro and the surrounding areas to put yourself in the Christmas Spirit.
1. Head to the Theatre.
Triad Stage is a regional theatre that is currently running a very festive play called “Beautiful Star” and it plays until Christmas Eve. This unique, original play was written by the founder of the theatre and is sure to get you in the holiday spirit!
2. Go see some lights!
Market Street is home to many beautiful lights just a short distance from campus! Also, if you’re willing to take a drive, Winston-Salem is home to the infamous festival of lights, where you can drive through a park full of beautiful light designs.
3. Watch the Nutcracker.
This infamous ballet is playing at 3 places around the triad. UNC School of the Arts has a production going until December 18th. Greensboro Ballet also has a production going until December 18th. If you can’t make any of those dates, you can still see it at the High Point Ballet, which runs through December 23rd.
4. Explore.
Now that exams are finally in the past, you can take the time to explore all that Greensboro has to offer! Downtown is full of christmas lights and decor and the boutique shops are perfect for some holiday shopping. Old Salem also has multiple Christmas event that are festive and free to explore!
